Rebate Processor Jobs: Six Warning Signs That Scream Scam!

Everyone looking for an easy way to make extra money think they will find it on the Internet…

But you can’t trust or believe everything you read… One of the opportunities you may have seen online is the “rebate processor jobs.”

We are going to look at why these “jobs” offered online are fishy.  You will learn how to be critical of what these websites say about becoming one of these rebate processors.  After reading this no fluff article, you will avoid becoming the latest victim of their scams.

Here are the six warning signs that scream scam!

1. They Want Your Money

When a business such as a fast food restaurant or a department store advertises help wanted in the classifieds, they do not ask interviewees to pay a registration fee before they can be hired.  In the legitimate economy, employers pay their employees.  The only time you would pay a registration fee to anyone is if they will teach you how to become employable for the trade, profession or career you have chosen.  These organizations are called schools, not employers.  You are getting an education, not a job.

2.  It Does Not Ask for Your Previous Experience, Your Educational Background or Your References

Employers want the most qualified candidate for the positions they must fill.  They are not going to put their business at risk by hiring anyone.  Certain positions require certain skills, knowledge or expertise.  To be a rebate processor you can imagine requires at least the ability to perform math… also reading, typing and how to use a computer.  But, these websites say anyone qualifies and no one will be turned down.  A legitimate employer doesn’t have unlimited job openings available.

3.  They Don’t Tell You Exactly What You Will Do

Legitimate job descriptions are detailed.  They specify the skills and experience employers are seeking in a candidate.  Without accurate descriptions, job seekers won’t know if they are qualified and employers will spend most of their time interviewing people they would never hire.  The most specific thing these rebate processor websites say about what you will do is you will fill out online forms.

4. You Ask Around If Anyone Has Heard About These Jobs But No One Has

Legitimate jobs have titles that people recognize and can easily picture what they do.  A cashier rings up purchases at the checkout.  A nanny watches over children and performs related household choirs and duties.  A CEO runs a corporation, attends stockholder meetings and is the company’s head spokesman.  On the other hand, the people you know probably have never heard of rebate processors.  Go ahead and ask them to confirm this.

5. You Do a Search on the Web for the Company Name or Job and the Words Rip-off or Scam Keep Coming Up

As we mentioned earlier, you can’t trust or believe everything you read… If however, what you read appears intelligent and without an ulterior motive, then you may want to give it some consideration.  Many legitimate jobs are posted on job listing or career oriented sites.  But you never hear anybody say that the jobs listed on those sites are scams.  When you search for rebate processor in the popular search engines, you will find that at least 25% of the results contain negative comments or reviews about these jobs.

6. The BBB Has a File on Them

When the BBB or the Better Business Bureau has a file or created a record on a company, it means someone has inquired about that business.  That could be the start of an avalanche of complaints due to their expanded reach and business practices.  Contrast that with the many companies large and small, which have been in business for decades but never had been reported to the BBB or had a record created on them.

Peoples’ hopes and dreams are fragile things… They can shatter to pieces once the truth is known…  No one appreciates being misled… But discovering the truth will spare you from disappointment and lead you in the right direction.  The victims of these job scams must take their experience as a life lesson and just move on…
